Vouchers for the Institution for the Deaf and Dumb and the Blind, 1875.

This series consists of vouchers sent to the State Auditor for materials purchased for students at the Institution for the Deaf, and Dumb, and Blind in Talladega. The institute was established in 1860 (Acts of Ala. 1859-1860, No. 253) to house and support deaf, dumb and blind students. The Auditor then billed the county of the student's origin for re-payment to the state. The vouchers consist of lists of material such as clothes and other dry goods purchased by the institute for pupils who were unable to purchase these items. The lists include the name of the student, the date of purchase, items purchased, and their costs.
